  Paul  Rayson

Chief Executive Officer

Paul has worked in the financial services industry for over 20 years and has extensive experience in investment markets, technology, retail banking, risk management and insurance. 

Paul is the former Managing Director of CommSec, Australia’s leading online broker and former Managing Director of Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Society Ltd. Paul has also held a number of CFO and governance positions across large financial services businesses. Prior to financial services, Paul held senior roles in Chartered Accounting and Consulting firms specialising in corporate advisory and strategy.  

Paul holds a Commerce degree and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

  Charlie  Lanchester

Chief Investment Officer

Charlie is a former Managing Director of BlackRock, one of the world’s leading fund managers. He was head of the Fundamental Active Equities team in Australia. He has been a fund manager for 30 years with his career also spanning Schroders in London, Platinum Asset Management and Perpetual Investments where he was Deputy Head of Equities.

Charlie is the Chair of SurfAid, a not-for-profit charity committed to improving the health, wellbeing and resilience of families living in isolated regions connected to us through surfing. SurfAid operates in the remote areas of Indonesia and the Solomon Islands.

Charlie is also a director of The Australia Institute, a think tank based in Canberra.

  Maggie  O'Neill

Head of Marketing and Operations

Maggie is passionate about connecting people, ideas and philanthropy to create meaningful change. As a founding team member of Hearts & Minds, she has been instrumental in building the organisation into one of Australia’s top corporate givers, raising over $70 million for medical research since 2016.

At Hearts and Minds Investments Limited (HM1), Maggie serves as Head of Marketing and Operations, helping guide the $700m ASX-listed fund toward its dual purpose of delivering investment returns and advancing philanthropic impact. Maggie also spearheads the production of Sohn Hearts & Minds - Australia's premier finance and philanthropy conference - which has toured iconic venues including the Sydney Opera House, Melbourne's Hamer Hall and Mona in Hobart.

Maggie’s career began with the prestigious UBS cadetship program, where she gained experience in asset management, wealth management and corporate communications.

Maggie holds a combined degree in Business Leadership and Commerce from Macquarie University, with majors in International Business and Human Resource Management. Committed to lifelong learning, she has completed postgraduate studies in Creative Intelligence at UTS and Executive Leadership at Stanford's Business School. Her studies and international exchanges in Sweden, China and the United States have cultivated a global mindset and a love for exploration.
